Down here in Cape Town, South Africa, we’re smack-bang in the middle of our Summer season. Summer is officially from December to February, but in reality half our year is warm, and the other half is cold. Cape Town has a temperate Mediterranean climate with hot sunny days from November to April and cold rainy days from May to October. Yet even in Winter, we have plenty of sunny days too.

It’s a particularly hot February currently, and people are taking advantage of the good weather to enjoy outdoor activities and get-togethers after a long lockdown. Technically, we are still on Level 1 and not out of lockdown. However, the laws are much more relaxed now and we can enjoy our family time outdoors again.

For Muslims around the world, it’s currently the holy month of Rajab when we start our Ramadan preparations. This year we will be fasting during April, and I’m looking forward to spending a Pre-Ramadan spiritual retreat away with my girlfriends next month.
